WALK & TALK
Therapy has traditionally been carried out in rooms. Inside, the client and therapist sit down, static, still, and opposite each other. This arrangement helps to create a space with a sense of containment and safety.
But this is not the only way. Research and practices in Japan have shown us that being outside amongst trees and nature is therapeutic. Doctors in Japan prescribe walks amongst woodlands and forests to their patients. CurrentĀ studiesĀ indicate that being outside for 2 hours among nature has a significant effect on overall wellness.
I offer several modes of outdoor therapy. Do get in touch if you would like to incorporate any of these into our work together:-
Walk and talk
Therapeutic writing
Mindfulness walks
Forest bathing
