Brainspotting therapy was developed by David Grand. It is a therapy that aims to work by using the way that our eyes connect visually with our feelings and memories. “Where you look affects how you feel”.

In Brainspotting you connect with a memory ‘capsule’. Memories and the unprocessed feelings from the fragmented memories are then processed in a similar way to EMDR.

Brainspotting is a therapy that relies on what our bodies are experiencing, more than what we verbally talk about. The processing happens at a deep, non-verbal level. So there is less pressure to talk. In fact you do not have to tell the therapist what you are processing. They will check-in with you on how you are processing, always aiming to stay within your window of tolerance. It can be a very powerful experience.
